Konstantin Koltsov, who was born in Minsk, Belarus, on April 14, 1981, had a successful ice hockey career, playing for teams in Belarus, Russia, and the United States. He retired from the sport in 2013 and later pursued a career in business.

Koltsov and Sabalenka had been dating for approximately three years before their relationship ended in 2023. The two met through mutual friends and quickly became close, often attending each other's sporting events and sharing their love of sports and fitness.
